Noah's Arkive is a collection of nearly 30,000 images (slides) contributed by veterinarians all over the world, formed to share teaching materials.   The images include gross lesions, histopathology, normal histology, cytology and hematology, parasitology, poisonous plants, animals with/without clinical signs, schematics, radiographs, electron micrographs and techniques.   The digitized images are available on CDs organized into species-related subsets: Clinical Pathology (1575 images, 1 CD); Canine (6950 images, 2 CDs); Feline (2128 images, 1 CD); Equine (3443 images, 1 CD); Porcine (1543 images, 1 CD); Ruminant (5932 images, 2 CDs); WHEAL (Wildlife, Human, Exotic Animal, Avaian, Lab Animal: 4983 images, 4 CDs.   Each subset can be purchased separately.   Subset image descriptions are available online in PDF files (http://www.vet.uga.edu/vpp/noah/order.php).   Each image is identified in a searchable database by contributor, institution, species, system, tissue or organ and diagnosis or descriptive key words.   The Noah Viewer software combines the image and database information in a graphic display.   It also allows the user to search the database using up to three criteria.  Other features include: advance images by clicking Next/Previous buttons or by setting up an automatic advance at time interval selected by the user; hide the Diagnosis/Key word and GenPath fields for self-testing; and enter personal information into an editable and searchable Comments field.   The NOAH's Arkive images are for educational, nonprofit use.
