Audubon’s Mammals
Record number: 3612

Type: CD-ROM
Description: The complete text of the 1840 first edition Octavio set of John James Audubon’s Quadrupeds of North America, with over 150 classic, full colour mammal lithographs is presented in this program. Each mammal includes a story told by Audubon, including its habitat and range. While Audubon was one of the leading naturalists of his era, modern classification methods have changed many of the names assigned in this collection. To aid the student of biology, modern names and identifications have been included with each plate. In addition, CD-quality sounds for many of the mammals give even more dimension to the studies. All text is indexed, with index browsing and table of contents.
