Description: This double CD set contains interactive course notes on Anaesthesia (CD 1) and Surgery (CD 2).   The notes are intended to support Module 4 training and provide new research workers with a basic introduction to laboratory animal anaesthesia, surgery and perioperative care.   Copies of the notes can be printed (anaespr.pdf and surgpr.pdf), but when viewed on screen (anaesin.pdf and surgin.pdf) using Adobe Acrobat Reader, links are included for accessing illustrations, Quicktime film clips and additional text information.   The film is captioned to emphasise essential points.   It is not allowed to copy and distribute the contents of the CD.   To view the notes the user will need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a copy of the latest version (version 5) for both Macintosh and Windows is included on the CD.   It is very important that the user sets the Acrobat prefences as detailed in the introduction to the notes.   The notes should open automatically if Acrobat is installed.   If not, open the file "anaesint.pdf" on CD 1 or "surgint.pdf" on CD 2.   Sample images is available at http://www.digires.co.uk/product/lab-animal-anaesthesia-surgery-and-perioperative-care-interactive-course-notes.
