Description: Since July 1999 all researchers who are executing animal experiments (FELASA category B) and those responsible for directing animal experiments (FELASA category C) have to follow an obligatory and well defined training in Switzerland. The training is described in an ordinancy. Continuing education is also obligatory. This CD-ROM is a support for the training courses. It includes the laws and guidelines concerning animal experimentation, a checklist for the preparation of an experiment, a frequently performed experiment as exercise, an inforama with videos and pictures on blood sampling, correct restraining techniques on animals, information on alternative methods, links to important related websites and a glossary. This interactive CD-ROM does not replace an experiment, but it helps laboratory personnel to prepare better experiments.
