Description: Designed as self-paced interactive neuropathology laboratories (or as supplements to classroom wet labs), each of these nine self-paced modules covers a specific central nervous system disease or syndrome. Using a consistent interface, each module includes high-resolution, annotated images of gross pathological specimens, specially stained histological brain and / or spinal cord sections and in one module, QuickTime video of pathognomonic clinical signs is included. Animated labels highlight key structures and guide the user through the disease process. Topics include: Fibrocartilagenous Embolism in the dog; Choroid Plexus Tumor; Feline Brain Abscess; Nigropallidal Encephalomalacia (NPE) in the horse; Spinal Cord Trauma; Canine Distemper Virus; Fungal Encephalomalcia; Fibrocartilagenous Emboli; and Feline Infectious Peritonitis. System requirements: Macintosh Power PC or Windows PC, 16 bit (thousands) colour or higher, 800 X 600 screen resolution, and a CD drive. This program was developed by The Computer Assisted Learning Facility (CALF), School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis.
