Description: This video film presents two canine abdominal surgical procedures. The first, a nephrotomy, demonstrates an incision and exploration of the left kidney as approached through an already prepared midline laparotomy. The pertinent anatomy is reviewed with illustrations. The cystotomy shows the bladder exteriorized caudally from within the same midline incision. The frequency of calculi and specific closure sutures for the bladder are noted.
