Users learn how to use a stethoscope to record heart sounds and relate these to valve actions in the cardiac cycle.   The relation between heart sounds and the electrocardiogram is also explored.   Qualitative and quantitative differences between the various heart sounds are highlighted, and murmurs are introduced.
